    Academic Programme Leader

    Adjunct Professor and Dr. Jonna Kangas is a leading Finnish researcher in Early Education and a top contributor to the Play- based and Participatory Learning theory and methodology for early childhood education in Finland. She is one of the developers of the Foundations of ECEC STEM course. Dr. Kangas is a Senior Lecturer and Teacher Training Expert at the University of Helsinki and also a Joint Research Member at the Playful Learning Centre research laboratory. She has trained hundreds of Finnish early educators in daily pedagogics, children’s learning process observation and documentation, and she has designed innovative teacher training and mentoring programmes for online platforms.

    Dr. Heidi Harju-Luukkainen

    Special Education TEACHER

    Dr. Heidi Harju-Luukkainen holds a Ph.D. in education, special education teacher qualification and a qualification in leadership and management from Finland. She has published more than 100 international books, journal articles and reports as well as worked in more than 25 projects globally. Dr. Harju-Luukkainen has worked at top ranked universities in the USA like UCLA, USC as well as in many Nordic research universities. She has developed education programs for universities, been a PI of PISA sub-assessments in Finland and functioned as board professional. Her research areas are early childhood education, justice in education and international student assessment.
